The earth orbited by asteroid engineered for humans with rivers, trees and gravity. Each populated by human subsets .. maybe one with tekkies .. one with Jews .. one with Arabs .. one with Artists ... and on and on ..
To relieve the population pressure on man on Earth ecosystems ...
The moon settled with human in communities dedicated to the study of the stars to idenitfy the next candidate for migration ...
Both are achievable and the first step to the stars.
Why do this? Because it will bring new wonders. Because it will bring all mankind together in looking outward to the stars instead of festering on one lump in space in petty conflict.
Because humans have only now begun to achieve what we are capable of becoming.
